Cheerfully chilly: Take the plunge or watch from the pier

The Polar Plunge takes place on Sunday. The event benefits the food pantry.

On Sunday, the Tahoe Keys Association holds its third annual Tahoe Keys Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Christmas Cheer, a local food bank.

Meet at the beach in front of the Tahoe Keys Pavilion. Registration takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with the plunge at noon sharp.

There will be warm drinks and appetizers and prizes for the best costumes

There is a requested cash donation of $25 per person to swim or sponsor a swimmer. Those who don’t want to brave the cold water can bring a donation of a nonperishable food item to the event to be a spectator.
