In honor of Month of the Young Child, Choices for Children presented the 14th annual Child Care Professionals Appreciation Breakfast. The event consisted of a recognition breakfast, door prizes and enriching workshops. The Early Care & Education field came together on April 2 at Caesars Lake Tahoe.

The theme “Removing Challenges: Building a Bridge for Success” attracted 47 child-care professionals. This half-day conference provided child-care providers not only with the tools necessary to help them build a bridge for their program but for children to succeed.

Choices for Children, S.E.A.L.S, the Child Care and Development Planning Council, First 5, Tahoe Youth & Family Services and CAEYC were there to show their support to the child care community by offering their collaboration and participating in this enriching conference.

Workshops included Creating the Magic to Smooth Transitions, Surviving the Picky Eaters, Taking the “U” Out of Trouble/Conflict Resolution, I don’t Wanna Read a Book! and Addressing Challenging Behaviors in the Classroom.

Participants received a $30 gift certificate to order supplies for their program from Beyond Play. All gift certificates were provided by the LPC’s-Special education Advisory Committee. Their journeys provided each participant with support to go back to their families, classrooms, and homes to provide essential, age-appropriate development for all typically developing and special needs children.
