Choir seeks singers

Provided to the Tribune

Gearing up for its 33rd annual spring concert, the Tahoe Choir, in conjunction with the Lake Tahoe Community College Chorus, is looking for singers to perform music from the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s.

Director Linda Mitchell said the concerts, which will take place May 13, 14, and 15, will feature not only music of such composers as Kern, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, and Cole Porter, but also comedy and commercials from that radio period.

Choral arrangements will be performed for audiences, and singers will have a chance to audition for solos, duets and trios from this era. Anyone who has sung in a church or high school choir or a community chorus is encouraged to join. Rehearsals will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Jan. 4 in the LTCC choral room at the performing arts complex. For more information call Linda Mitchell at (530) 541-2635 or John De Masi at (530) 541-2773.
