CHP cadet receives assignment

Orrin Glen Heitmann of South Lake Tahoe has successfully completed California Highway Patrol cadet training and has been assigned to duty at the CHP West Valley Area office.

Officer Heitmann is a graduate of Chino High School at Chino, Calif., and attended Lake Tahoe Community College. He was employed as a correctional officer at the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department before joining the CHP.

CHP cadet training includes emergency vehicle operation, weapons use, physical methods of arrest, enforcement tactics, physical conditioning, the vehicle code book and other laws, crash investigation and other subjects pertaining to law enforcement.
