Cinco party starts three days early

The South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center will present its second annual Cinco de Mayo fund-raiser Monday, May 2.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Heavenly Ski Resort California Main Lodge.

Entertainment includes a 10-piece mariachi band, dancing with Jorge Orozco and a children’s dance troupe.

Tickets are $20 each and will provide a night of entertainment and food from Taberna in the Lakeside Inn & Casino, Los Mexicanos, Chevy’s Fresh Mex, The Cantina, Applebee’s and El Parque. A salsa contest will take place before the meal and a no-host bar will be available.

Tickets will be sold for a raffle that could win someone an all-expense paid weekend at a five-star hotel in San Francisco worth $1,000. Raffle tickets are one for $5 or five for $20.
