Rhapsody M. Bendixen (Cindy McClure) passed away April 2, 2005, at Shasta Regional Medical Center, in Redding, Calif., with her brothers at her side, after a long illness.

A celebration of her life will take place April 16 at her aunt’s home in Stockton, Calif., and April 23 at Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe.

Cindy was born Sept. 22, 1957, in Stockton to Ardis May McClure. Her mother married Al Buonaccorsi and the family moved to Lake Tahoe in 1965. She graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1975, where she made the honor role list her senior year and was a former homecoming princess.

After high school Cindy worked at Harrah’s Tahoe for several years, where she met and married Heiko Bendixen in 1979. They immediately moved to Manhattan, N.Y., where her new husband became the executive chef at Windows on the World atop the Twin Towers. For the next 18 years Cindy and her husband lived in Atlantic City, N.J., and one year in Lake Charles, La., with her best friend, Vivian Mayring. She divorced in 1997, returning home to South Lake Tahoe to be near her family. She later ended up residing in Burney, Calif. Cindy will be forever remembered for her big, beautiful eyes, bright shining smile, and incredible loving spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her father, Al Buonaccorsi of Lake Tahoe; brothers, Bruce McClure and his wife, Majdouline, Derick McClure and his wife, Vicki, and Tom Buonaccorsi; nephew, Adam McClure; aunts, Adrianne Thomas and Robin Linn; uncle, Doug Edge; many loving cousins; and life-long friends, Karen Young Redwine, Debbie King McDonald, Debbie Smith, and Cindy Schaber Hammond.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ardice May Buonaccorsi.
