City appoints MaryAnne Brand interim finance director
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The city has announced the appointment of MaryAnne Brand as South Lake Tahoe’s interim finance director, replacing Christine Vuletich who resigned to accept a position with Douglas County.
Brand’s first day in the position will be Monday.
Brand earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California. After several years in the banking field Brand was hired by the city in 1984, according to a Monday statement.
In her 26 years in the city’s finance department she has overseen all aspects of the city’s finances. She has been the city’s accounting manager for the revenue division since 2004. She is a member of the California Municipal Treasurer’s Association and the California Municipal Revenue Taxation Association, for which she currently serves as the vice president of a Northern California division. In 2007 she completed requirements to earn the classification of certified revenue officer.
The city intends to undertake a formal open recruitment for the finance director position and anticipates attracting both highly qualified internal and external candidates, according to the statement.
