City reschedules budget talks

Staff Reports

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe City Council is now scheduled to discuss and possibly approve its 2011/2012 fiscal year budget at 2 p.m. Oct. 18, according to a Wednesday email from City Clerk Susan Alessi.

Last month, the council approved an interim budget for October while staff look at several suggestions to close a projected $5.2 million gap in the city’s 2011-2012 budget.

More than 20 city job cuts have been proposed for elimination as part of measures to close the budget gap.

The budget meeting was previously, and tentatively, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 11.
