SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Lake Tahoe is soliciting applications from volunteers representing a broad spectrum of expertise in the fields of accounting, financial analysis, budget development, benefits administration, investment management, fiscal control and business to serve on a fiscal sustainability committee.

The City Council approved establishment of the committee at their Tuesday meeting.

The committee will consist of six to eight members, including two city council members, to assist the council by providing expertise in ensuring the sustainability of the city’s financial future, according to a statement from City Clerk Susan Alessi.

The committee will meet at least eight times a year and participate in reviewing and making recommendations in a variety of financial areas.

Applications can be obtained at the city clerk’s office at Lake Tahoe Airport during regular business hours. Applications can also be downloaded from http://www.cityofslt.us.

Applications can also be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to interested parties by contacting the city clerk’s office.

Completed applications must be returned to the city clerk’s office no later than 5 p.m. April 12. The City Council will make appointments at their regular meeting April 19.

For more information on the application process, contact Alessi at 530-542-6004. For more information on the committee itself, contact Christine Vuletich, Director of Finance at 530-542-6064.
