Provided to the Tribune

Do you need help to quit smoking? There’s help just around the corner. Of course you want to improve your health and live longer, so remember, “It’s not willpower, it’s skillpower.”

Sign up for smoking-cessation classes sponsored by the El Dorado County Public Health Department and taking place locally at Barton University. The cost is $25 (nonrefundable) for eight classes, and attending the first class is critical. Class time is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. daily at Barton University, 1111 Emerald Bay Road.

To register, call (530) 543-5537. Payment options include cash, check or MasterCard, Visa or American Express.

The winter session begins Feb. 4 and concludes March 31. The summer session starts June 2 and ends July 14. The fall session gets under way Oct. 6 and concludes Nov. 17. Your lungs and your family will thank you to quit smoking.

For more information, call the Barton Resource Center at (530) 543-5537.
