South Tahoe Middle School Club Live leaders traveled to Richardson Springs, Calif., March 1 and 2 to attend the annual “Reach for the Future” leadership conference.

The leaders learned about teamwork and did lots of leadership building skills while meeting new people and having fun. Activities included a Challenge Day, workshops, ropes course, talent show and dance.

One other activity that all enjoyed was for younger children in Chico who cannot afford bicycles. All the leaders helped put together new bicycles. At the end of the day the bicycles were given to the children.

“I felt very happy that the bikes went to a good cause,” said Heather Halverson, a sixth-grade leader.

The goal for the leaders during the trip was to learn more about leadership and to bring back ideas to help make STMS Club Live and South Tahoe Middle School a better place.
