Coast Guard auxiliary is recruiting members
April 12, 2005
The Coast Guard Auxiliary is looking for volunteers to join the South Lake Tahoe flotilla and be an active part of the Department of Homeland Defense.
Members participate in on-the-water and classroom training leading to rewarding opportunities in participating in search and rescue, teaching boating safety and helping others by doing boat safety checks.
Members also receive training in navigation, weather, seamanship, radio communications, search and rescue and conducting boat patrols.
Members are an integral part of Coast Guard Station Lake Tahoe’s activities. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Carrow’s Restaurant, by Motel 6 on Lake Tahoe Blvd. The next boating class will be May 7.
