Throughout 2016, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Cares Foundation gave back to the Tahoe, Truckee and Sacramento communities in several ways.
In total, the donations from the foundation — a philanthropic arm of real estate company Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Tahoe/Sacramento — to local charities totaled more than $100,000, according to a press release.
Events hosted in the area included a casino night at the Monte Carlo and a charity golf tournament, among many others.
The foundation made cash donations of over $50,000, while agents and offices provided additional estimated contributions of materials, supplies and labor for a total donation of more than $100,000 in 2016.
The benefiting organizations include: Alpha K9, Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado County, Boys and Girls Club of Placer County, Courage Worldwide, Elk Grove Food Bank, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Rotary Club of Sacramento (Pony Express), Sacramento Blue Star Moms, Sacramento Children’s Home, Sierra Senior Services, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, Tubman House, and Twin Lakes Food Bank.
In addition to raising funds, the foundation also worked with offices in the Tahoe, Truckee and Sacramento areas to collect a total of 455 toys for Toys for Tots and 648 coats for the One Warm Coat holiday charity campaign.
“I am incredibly proud of all the independent sales associates and staff who initiated these continual efforts to benefit the most vulnerable members of our communities,” Mike James, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Sacramento/Tahoe region, said in the press release. “Their generosity made an enormous impact last year, and I know they will continue to give back in exceptional ways during 2017.”
