Danielle Daly, 20, will spend her summer in Kenya on a mission trip through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a nationwide college club. While in Kenya, she will live with a pastor, give sermons and possibly work with children at orphanages.

Daly just competed her sophomore year at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she is majoring in elementary and special education.

There will be a garage sale and car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Shoreline Snowboards parking lot, 259 Kingsbury Grade. The fundraiser will help raise the remainder of the funds that Daly needs.

“Last December, the political elections were publicly rigged in Kenya, which led to violent riots where 1,000 people were killed, villages burned and 350,000 people were displaced,” Daly said.

“There is a huge need for reconciliation, forgiveness and healing in Kenya. I’m excited to share the true forgiveness and healing that Jesus can give the people of Kenya.”
