College to host poetry workshop

Ann Keniston will hold a poetry reading and workshop on June 13.

Poet Ann Keniston will read from her work and offer a poetry workshop June 13 in the Creekside Room at the Lake Tahoe Community College student center.

David Robert Books published Keniston’s first collection of poems, “The Caution of Human Gestures,” in 2005. Her poems have appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, Kenyon Review, Antioch Review, Pequod, and other publications. An assistant professor of American poetry and creative writing at the University of Nevada, Reno, Keniston is also a scholar of contemporary American poetry.

The event is free and open to the public. The poetry workshop will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with the reading beginning at 7 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and wine by the glass will be available by donation. All proceeds go to the Writer’s Series which helps bring more writers to LTCC for talks, workshops and readings.
