Collision closes Kingsbury on Monday afternoon

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. – A traffic collision closed Kingsbury about halfway up the Carson Valley side on Monday afternoon.

Reported at around 1:20 p.m., the collision involved two vehicles near a shady curve about six miles up the Grade.

According to reports from the scene, a van lost control on the curve and flipped onto its side injuring at least one person.



The Nevada State Police is reporting the collision as an injury.

East Fork medics and firefighters and Douglas County deputies responded.



The base of the Grade at Foothill Road was closed.

It was the second vehicle wreck along the Sierra front in a 40 minutes on Monday.

A 24-foot box truck reportedly went off the side of Highway 88 near the intersection with Diamond Valley Road around 12:40 p.m.

The truck was lying on its side 50-100 feet off the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

No injuries were reported as a result.
