PORTLAND, Ore.- Josh Collmenter celebrated his return to Triple-A with six strong innings and a winning decision, leading the Reno Aces to a 9-6 victory over the Portland Beavers Monday night at PGE Park.

Collmenter (2-1), who was promoted to Reno for the second time over the All-Star Break, scattered three runs on five hits over six frames. The big right-hander struck out four and walked just one. Behind him, three Aces’ relievers allowed one earned run apiece, but Reno pushed across five runs over the game’s final three frames to preserve the series-opening win. Carlos Rosa recorded the game’s final four outs to pick up his third save.

The Aces posted three runs in the first inning and never trailed. Portland put up single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings Monday, but Reno’s offense kept pace, scoring twice in the seventh and eighth, and adding an insurance run in the ninth.

Carlos Corporan led the Aces with three hits, including two doubles and an RBI. Ryan Roberts, Jeff Bailey and Pedro Ciriaco each collected two hits for Reno, leading a 12-hit Aces’ attack. Reno hit five doubles off Portland starter Cesar Carrillo.

Carrillo (4-9) was pinned with the loss, surrendering six runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings of work.
