Color Blast! run to benefit Tahoe Youth & Family Services

Provided to the Tribune

A Color Blast! 5K Fun Run will be held Saturday to benefit Tahoe Youth & Family Services.

The run, which is not a timed race, will take place at Lake Tahoe Community College. Everyone is welcome to participate. Runners are encouraged to wear white as they will be doused in color at different stations throughout the run. The colors are corn starch-based, and therefore non-toxic and biodegradable, according to a press release.

The race will start at 9 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m., and will feature a colorful 5K, followed by food, drinks and live music fun for the whole family. A free bike valet will be available.

All proceeds from the Color Blast Run will benefit Tahoe Youth & Family Services. There are opportunities for sponsorships, and volunteers are needed to help at the event. For information, contact Alissa Nourse by email at Alissa@tahoeyouth.org or 530-541-2445.

Registration costs $50 for adults prior to event and $60 the day of the event, or $10 for children age 10 and younger. To register, visit http://www.colorblastrun.com.
