Colorado wedding planned

Viktoria Slaback of Grand Junction, Colo., and Daryl Cox of Alamosa, Colo., have announced their engagement and plan to be married May 18, 2002, at Two Rivers Vinehard, Grand Junction, Colo.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Brad and Diane Bennett and Art and Chris Slaback, all of South Lake Tahoe. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1991, earned an associate of arts degree from Western Nevada Community College in 1995, and received a bachelor’s degree in business office management and Spanish liberal arts from Adams State College at Alamosa in 1997. She is office manager for POMA of America Ski Lift Corporation and a consultant for Creative Memories. She is a docent at Western Colorado Botanical Gardens and is raising her Australian shepherd dog named Tahoe.

The future bridegroom is a 1987 graduate of Bennington High School, Bennington, Neb., and graduated from Mesa State College, Grand Junction, Colo., in 1992. He has completed his lineman apprenticeship and is a high voltage lineman with Excel Energy. A volunteer fireman at Alamosa, he has been a volunteer fireman since he was old enough to drive a fire truck, which is 14 in Nebraska. He is raising his border collie/Australian shepherd mix dog named Kiowa.
