One of Shakespeare’s best comedies, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” will get a unique stamp in the production by Lake Tahoe Community College. The show opens Nov. 9 in the Duke Theater. LTCC theater department will bring this hilarious comedy to life.

Demetrius loves Hermia, but Hermia loves Lysander and Helena loves Demetrius. They all chase each other into the forest ruled by Oberon and Titania, king and queen of the fairies, who are having their own battles. Add to this gathering a group of “rude mechanicals,” or just plain working stiffs, trying to rehearse a play in the same forest, and the combination equals perfect comic mayhem. And of course, it all ends happily ever after.

The LTCC production will run Nov. 9-11 and 16-18 at 8 p.m. in the Duke Theater. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 19. Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 seniors and children and $4 for LTCC student body cardholders. Tickets may be purchased at the theater box office, from noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Oct. 30. The college is located off Al Tahoe Boulevard at One College Drive.
