Comments sought on Heavenly adventure race

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The U.S. Forest Service is asking for public input on a proposed one-time adventure race at Heavenly Ski Resort in August 2012.

The MojoMan Challenge is a competition that covers approximately 10 miles and incorporates 25 to 30 challenge obstacles, according to a Monday statement from the Forest Service.

Temporary obstacles would be constructed of natural and man-made elements, including water and mud pits, cargo nets and log piles. Erosion control measures would be costructed and no permanent disturbance would take place, according to the statement.

The event would be open to the public.

The Forest Service asks that comments be submitted by the close of business May 11. For more information, contact Matt Dickinson at 530- 543-2769 or visit http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/ltbmu/MojoMan.
