Line dance classes for all ages will begin April 18 at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation & Swim Complex.

Dance instructor Michelle Langlois will help you get your exercise routine started with dances influence by country western, rock, pop and hip-hop music.

Classes cost $6 and will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. Drop-ins welcome.

The complex is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Throughout the month of April, El Dorado County law enforcement agencies will enforce a zero-tolerance policy for drivers using cell phones without hands-free devices and texting.

A ticket for violating the hands-free or no-texting law will cost at least $159 for the first ticket and $279 for subsequent tickets, according to a press release from South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Drivers who use handheld devices are four times as likely to get into crashes, the release stated. Inexperienced drivers under the age of 20 reportedly have the highest proportion of distraction-related fatal crashes, police said.
