Community Cleanup Day to be held Saturday

Provided to the Tribune

Clean Tahoe will host its annual Community Cleanup Day on Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As a supporter of the event, Heavenly Mountain Resort has focused on its year-round efforts to keep its services environmentally friendly. Its efforts include monthly monitoring of water quality of six on-mountain streams; its IdleWise program, which limits company vehicle idling to five minutes on the job; moving toward a paperless work environment; planting trees; and offering community transit services.

Community Cleanup Day will be held at the South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station, where people can discard old mattresses, couches and jump for $5 per vehicle load. For a list of all accepted items, contact Clean Tahoe at 530-544-4210.
