Convention center in Reno breaks ground

Northern Nevada’s largest public works project of 2001 in Reno.

The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority will launch the $105 million expansion and renovation plan. The project calls for increasing the convention center’s current space to about a half a million square feet of exhibit and meeting space.

Nevada, Washoe County, Reno and Sparks city officials as well as those from the Washoe County Commissioners and convention and visitors authority will be on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday.
