Cooler today with a few showers or thunderstorms by afternoon

An upper level trough of low pressure will sweep across the area today bringing cloudy skies and isolated showers this morning.

Daytime heating will help trigger more showers in the afternoon with the possibility of Thunderstorms into the evening hours. Highs today are forecast to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Winds are expected to be light except for local gusts to 40 mph near any showers or thunderstorms. No travel problems are expected with these showers and snow levels should be generally above 8000 feet.



Lows tonight are forecast to dip into the mid and upper 20s with local areas of fog near Truckee.

Thursday will start out under sunny skies then become partly cloudy by afternoon. Highs Thursday are forecast to reach the lower to mid 60s with southwest winds 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
