The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club is busy preparing for the 38th annual St. Patrick’s Day Wine Tasting and Corned Beef Feed. The best Irish party of the year will be held March 17 at Harrah’s Convention Center. Guests will enjoy a complete Irish buffet dinner in addition to premium California wine from 12 different wineries. This lively fundraiser features an incredible silent auction with more than 200 donated items including great products from local retailers and gift certificates from all the best restaurants.

The Lake Tahoe community really supports the Tahoe Douglas Rotary’s fundraising efforts. Special thanks to Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe Resort for providing more than 100 accommodation packages to fabulous hotels across the United States. Any individual or business that makes a donation valued at $400 or more will receive two complimentary VIP passes to the event worth $100. All donors are listed in the program and on the service’s clubs Web site at Your customers will notice and admire your contribution.

The St. Patrick’s Day Wine Tasting is the club’s major fundraiser to provide for college scholarships and donations to local nonprofit organizations. Last year proceeds from the Wine Tasting allowed the club to donate $10,000 in academic scholarships to 10 local high school seniors and another $21,000 to local community programs that benefit everyone at Lake Tahoe.

The ticket donation is $50 each and reserved tables of 10 are available for $500. It is advised to secure tickets early because this great party is always a sell- out. Your ticket gives you an entry in the grand prize drawing for an Easter Week vacation at the Pahio Kauai Beach Villas plus $1,000 cash for airfare. Tickets may be purchased from any Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club member or at the following locations: Tahoe-Douglas and South Lake Tahoe chambers of commerce, Lakeside Inn & Casino cashier cage, Century 21 Tahoe Pines and Colonial Bank on Kingsbury Grade, Selective Accommodations and Hot Springs Spas on Highway 50 at Elks Point Road.

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club is very grateful to the entire Lake Tahoe community for its kind support. If you would like to make a donation, call event chairman Bob Colvin at (775) 588-2121.
