Correction: City transient occupancy tax

South Lake Tahoe Councilwoman Judy Brown did not state that a hike in the city’s transient occupancy tax would negatively impact tourism. She said her concerns were about the Sept. 11 attack and its effect on tourism, which accounts for a large part of the city’s budget. A story in Wednesday’s paper misstated her position.
