Council to get convention center update
October 5, 2008
The developer of the convention center at the state line will give an update on the project during Tuesday’s meeting of the South Lake Tahoe City Council.
The item is a presentation only, and the council won’t take any action or give direction on the project, according to the meeting agenda.
The $420 million project, known as The Chateau at Heavenly Village, also includes a hotel-condominium. Construction stopped in January, and the developer has said he hasn’t been able to secure financing.
In other items:
— The council will vote on the city’s budget for the new fiscal year that started Oct. 1. That includes a proposed $33.2 million general-fund budget.
— The council will hold a public hearing on proposed route and fare modifications for the BlueGO bus system.
