Council turns to public for help

The South Lake Tahoe City Council wants the public to take a stand.

Three public hearings are scheduled for today’s council meeting:

– The annexation of about 13 acres of land in El Dorado County to the city of South Lake Tahoe. The county land juts into the city’s Park Avenue Redevelopment Project area.

– TCI cable television franchise agreement and amendments to Chapter 10 of the city code.

– A resolution authorizing a $1 increase of vehicle registration fees in the city limits to provide funding for the installation of highway call boxes in El Dorado County.

The 6 p.m. meeting will be in the council chambers at 1900 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

In addition, the South Tahoe Redevelopment Agency will meet at 4 p.m. in the council chambers. The Memorandum of Understanding concerning parking in the Park Avenue Redevelopment Project is on the agenda, along with a report on letter of credit requirements.
