Council will formalize city manager deal

The South Lake Tahoe City Council will formalize its agreement today with its selected city manager.

David Childs, who works as the city manager for Minnetonka, Minn., has been offered the job. After contract negotiations, Childs accepted the $105,000-per-year position. The council will vote today on the contract which runs five years and has a salary cap of $110,000.

South Tahoe Redevelopment Agency will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1900 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The regular council meeting begins at 6 p.m., also in the Council Chambers.



Also on the agenda:

– Construction bid award for the Park Avenue realignment project.




– Contract for air traffic control tower services at $1,443 per month.

– Actuarial costs contract agreement.

– A public hearing for use of a $32,034 law enforcement block grant.

– A public hearing on a community block grant application for housing rehabilitation.
