County asks for absentee ballots
June 4, 2007
The El Dorado County Elections Department is sending out cards urging registered voters to cast their ballots absentee.
About 35,000 green forms have been mailed to those who voted in November 2006 election asking for the permanent voter status.
From a statistical standpoint, absentee voters are considered more consistent in their constitutional right, according to election officials. In the county’s 2006 gubernatorial election over half the votes went absentee – the recent trend for voters across the state.
Those who want to vote absentee are encouraged to mail the card back to the Elections Department at 2850 Fair Lane Court, Placerville; or at the Recorder-Clerk’s office in South Lake Tahoe at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
