Couple announces their engagement

Jessica Marlett-Jackson and Michael Lopez recently announced their engagement and are making plans to be married June 14, 2003, at Caesars Tahoe.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Randy and Twila Marlett of Atascadero, Calif., who were residents of Zephyr Cove from 1974 to 1994. A 1993 graduate of George Whittell High School, she attended the University of Phoenix, Calif., East Bay campus, Concord, Calif., for 2 1/2 years. She plans to attend California State University, Hayward this fall to earn a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is employed as operations coordinator at Dantz Development.

The future bridegroom is the son of Janice Lopez of Clayton, Calif., and the late Gerald Lopez. He graduated from Harbor High School, Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1991 and the Sequoia Institute at Fremont, Calif., in 1993. He is an auto mechanic at Diablo Mazda.
