Couple elopes after gondola engagement

Jennifer Schoonover and Chris Ligman announced their marriage after they eloped in Las Vegas, Nev. Their wedding ceremony was on March 21, 2006, at Little Chapel of the West. The single-ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Buddy Yates and was witnessed by the bridegroom’s parents and a few friends. A reception will be held at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course in July.

The bride is the daughter of Terri and Russell Paul of South Lake Tahoe and Jim Schoonover of Napa, Calif. The bridegroom’s parents are John and Debbie Ligman of Yucca Valley, Calif.

For her nuptials the bride wore a strapless, floor-length, cream-colored dress with ornate bead work.



The couple met at the casinos during the summer of 2003. They were engaged a few days before Christmas at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort where he proposed while they rode the gondola.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of South Tahoe High School. In 2004, she received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies and elementary education. She works as a preschool teacher for First School of the Desert in Palm Springs.



The bridegroom is a graduate of Yucca Valley High School. He works in construction.
