Course is offered for family of mentally ill

National Alliance on Mental Illness South Lake Tahoe is offering a free, comprehensive 12-week course designed to help family members understand and support their ill relatives while maintaining their own well being.

Specifically for families of persons with major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, panic and obsessive compulsive disorder, co-occurring brain disorder and addictive disorders. The course will offer information on self care, coping skills and emotional support.

Free classes begin in September and will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Advance registration is required. For more information call Diana at (530) 577-4740.
