Man arrested for U.S. Highway 50 stroll

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 25-year-old Coleville, California, man Thursday, June 9 after he was allegedly found to be intoxicated and walking down U.S. Highway 50. Around 10:40 p.m. a sheriff’s deputy received a report of a man walking in the highway near Lakeside Inn and Casino and responded, finding the man walking westbound in the highway and yelling obscenities at Lakeside security staff on the sidewalk. The deputy guided the man off the highway and performed a preliminary breath test, which found the man had a blood alcohol content of .240 percent, three times the legal limit for driving. The man was booked into the Douglas County’s Stateline jail on suspicion of being an intoxicated person in the highway.
