Man threatens to jump from eighth-story ledge

Police and numerous emergency personnel responded to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Stateline, Nev. just after 2 p.m. Friday for a report of a man who was threatening to jump from the eighth-floor ledge.
Members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team were on scene to assist patrol members trying to talk the man off the ledge.
Tahoe-Douglas Fire Protection District and CalStar were standing-by to assist. No roads were closed as a result of the incident. At 4:55 p.m. the man threatening to jump was safely taken into protective custody.

El Dorado County deputies arrested two people on suspicion of grand theft and possession of burglary tools after reportedly finding items linked to catalytic converter thefts in a vehicle during a traffic stop Jan. 13.
