A grand theft report was filed by Nel’s Tahoe Hardware on a man who has been in possession of a rented $1,640 scaffolding set since September 2001, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said.

Apparently the hardware store, located on Fremont Avenue, has been in dispute with the renter for quite some time.

In other news:

A 36-year-old Daly City man reported that a $200 stereo face-plate and other items were stolen from his Acura Integra while it was parked at a motel Wednesday night, a South Lake Tahoe police officer reported.

A $150 mercury vapor light was damaged at South Tahoe High School, a South Lake Tahoe police officer said. Numerous teenagers were seen on the roof Thursday night when the damage reportedly occurred.

A 53-year-old man from Forest Hill reported that his $399 maroon ostrich- skin Tony Llama-brand cowboy boots were missing from his Lakeside Inn and Casino room, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.
