Custody issues to be discussed at meeting

Provided to the Tribune

A meeting for the awareness and support of people affected by custody and abuse battles has been scheduled at 6 p.m. Friday at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade.

Sponsored by StopFamilyViolence.org and the Battered Mothers Custody Conference, the meeting will help start a local organization with connections across the U.S. Included will be information on the Battered Mothers Custody Conference that is scheduled in January 2007.

The event will include a one-hour show featuring segments from two documentaries that highlight the custody/visitation scandal that is taking place in family courts, followed by a one-hour discussion. The documentaries are “Small Justice: Little Justice in America’s Family Courts” and “Breaking the Silence: Children’s Stories.”
