SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Two men involved in a December robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on Emerald Bay Road were sentenced on two counts of robbery and one count of burglary this week.

El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Suzanne Kingsbury sentenced Stuart Miller to 7 years in state prison and Kyle Shannon to 6 years in state prison on Monday for a Dec. 27 incident where they passed a note to pharmacy employees demanding OxyContin.

Monday’s sentences were part of an agreement with prosecutors.

Each of the men were given two strikes as part of the agreement and face life in prison under California’s “three strikes” law if convicted of another felony, said El Dorado County Deputy District Attorney Peter O’Hara.
