Cyclist to stop in South Lake during fundraising trip

Staff reports

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Kevin Citta, who is “Biking for Wishes” with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will make a stop Wednesday in South Lake Tahoe.

Citta is riding his bicycle solo from Weed, Calif., to Asheville, N.C., this summer, a 4,125-mile journey. He began June 1 from Weed, located at the base of Mt. Shasta. He expects to arrive in Asheville on Aug. 30.

Citta’s goal is to raise at least $5,000 for Make-A-Wish, which grants “special wishes” to kids who are facing life-threatening illnesses.

Kevin will be camping most nights on this trip, pulling a Burley Nomad trailer, donated to him by Burley. However, while he is in South Lake Tahoe, the Horizon Casino has offered him a room for the night.

To get involved with Kevin’s effort, contact Stephanie Shaver of the Weed Chamber of Commerce at 1-877-938-4624.
