Tahoe Dance Band invites everyone to a benefit for people displaced by the Angora fire. The Hawaiian dance will take place from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

People who wish may wear Hawaiian clothing. It is not necessary to come as a couple to the dance. There will be “mixers” to see that everyone has a chance to get up and dance and get acquainted. The 17-piece band is really good and plays all kinds of music for dancing and listening pleasure. There are always men and women who come alone to find dance partners or to just enjoy listening to the music.

Admission includes wine, appetizers and desserts – all for a minimum donation of $10. Participants can win a free door prize. Anyone seriously affected by the fire will be admitted free by showing some documentation. There will also be a raffle for some good prizes.

The donations will be administered by the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce through the U S Bank “Locals for Locals Angora Fire Fund.”
