David W. Ritter
A memorial service will take place Oct. 9 for or David W. “Doc” Ritter, 64, who died Sept. 15, 2007, at his home.
Dave was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Lee Hawkins and Dorothy Dunn Ritter. He grew up in Southern California and graduated from South Gate High School. After graduation Dave joined the U.S. Army, where he served four years, with time spent in Europe. He returned to California and worked for General Inspection Labs. Dave moved to the Lake Tahoe are in 1968, where he worked as a craps dealer and pit boss until retiring in 2005. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and riding his motorcycles. He was an avid reader, a master at crossword puzzles, and a sports enthusiast. Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his twin brother, Lonny Ritter; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Mary Ritter; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Tim Vugteveen; grandchildren, Lucas and Jaden Vugteveen; and his four-legged companion, Brandy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, Nev.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of choice.
