Deacy honored as top librarian

A surprise reception took place at the Minden Library Sept.

27 to honor Linda Deacy, Douglas County library director. Deacy is the recipient of the Librarian of the Year Award, which will be presented Oct. 4 at the Nevada Library Association awards banquet, Ely, Nev. The Douglas County Library Board of Trustees nominated Deacy for her hard work and dedication to the library. She was selected by

a committee of her peers to receive the award. Mike Coleman,



library board chair, presented Deacy with a copy of the letter of nomination. Bernie Curtis, Douglas County commissioner, presented her with a letter and plaque from the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. Sara Jones,

state librarian, made a short speech of congratulations and the Friends of the Library presented her with flowers and a corsage.
