DEATH NOTICE: Raymond ‘X-Ray’ Olsen

Raymond “X-Ray” Olsen died in Reno on Dec. 26. He was 59.

Olsen was a long time resident of South Lake Tahoe. He was the Sous Chef for the Summit Restaurant at Harrah’s for many years and later moved into the gaming at Harrah’s and became a pit boss. Olsen eventually left Harrah’s and started X-Ray’s Snow Removal and excavation business.

In his younger years, Olsen had belonged to the National Ski Patrol. He was a member of the Tahoe Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670.

He is survived by father Alvin Olsen, stepmother Gunve Olsen, brother Wes Olsen, sister-in-law MaryAnn Olsen, nephew Mike Olsen and his wife, Kerri.

A memorial will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Elks Lodge at 1276 Pit Road in Gardnerville.

Donations to be made to Tahoe Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 for charitable purposes.
