Death reported at Alpine Meadows

A 24-year-old Bay Area woman died Sunday after an accident at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

Jessica Gregorie was hiking up an embankment to a ski and snowboard location when she fell down an embankment at about 11:25 a.m., said Vernon McCarty, coroner for Washoe County.

The San Francisco woman was flown by helicopter to Washoe Medical Center where she died of her injuries. An autopsy will be conducted today, McCarty said. Details regarding the fall and specific injuries the woman received were not released.

A spokeswoman for Alpine was unavailable for comment.
