Deb Howard & Company celebrating its 10th year
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Deb Howard & Company, Lake Tahoe Real Estate, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Incorporated on Jan. 1, 2001 and headed by broker Deb Howard, Deb Howard & Co. has helped thousands of buyers and sellers in the Lake Tahoe basin to successfully transfer ownership of real estate.
Deb Howard first moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1979 and has been a Realtor and respected community figure since. Deb was cutting-edge and on the forefront of sales and marketing when she first started as a Realtor. Gaining knowledge from National Realtor Association workshops, meetings, and conventions, she branded herself as a household name and prided herself on ethics, service, work habits, and successful results. Tahoe residents often remember Deb for her “On the Move for You” slogan and promotional photos with her on a bicycle in a suit with a briefcase, tie flying in the wind. The bicycle theme has evolved over the years, with photos of her and staff on a tandem bicycle reminiscent of the original promotion.
Deb first started with McKinney and Associates in 1979 as a real estate agent, later joining as a partner in the company and Coldwell Banker franchise. Eventually she became a broker before starting her own brokerage in 2001 as a boutique service-based company. Deb was the first Tahoe Realtor to incorporate a “team concept” into the business. She agreed with the current trend toward splitting duties within the team instead of each agent being responsible for listing, buying, marketing, and clerical duties associated with sales.
“As a real estate agent, it’s virtually impossible be all things to all people as you end up doing most of it, if not all (the work), badly,” Howard said. “You can’t do a great job for your clients if you are trying to juggle everything.”
For the first six years, the Deb Howard & Company office was at the Lakefront Professional Building, and more recently the office was relocated to Ski Run and Highway 50, neighboring the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club and Pizza Hut.
Currently, the staff consists of ten producing agents and two staff members. The company consistently does a high volume of market share sales comparatively.
Deb has recently been to Washington to lobby for property owner rights, and is the Chair to the National Association of Realtors Resort & Second Home Real state Committee.
She holds a broker’s license in both California and Nevada, and holds the following Realtor Designations: Certified Residential Specialist, Resort and Second Home Specialist, e-PRO, and holds the Transnational Referral Certification.
