Defense leads South Tahoe boys to win

Defense has always been the Vikings’ strong point, but Tuesday they took it to another level.

South Tahoe seemed to anticipate Truckee’s every move in a 73-42 win at South Tahoe High School.

The win was a compete turnaround from a 36-33 loss to Incline Friday where the Vikings went 0-for-19 from 3-point range.

On Tuesday, the Vikings knocked down 4-of-13 on their 3-point attempts and went 22-for-40 from the 2-point range. They also grabbed 19 steals, six of those coming from John Cefalu, and nine deflections
