A member of famed underground Oakland, California, hip-hop crew Hieroglyphics heads into South Lake Tahoe’s Whiskey Dick’s Saloon this weekend.

Del the Funky Homosapien headlines the Saturday show, which also includes Domino from the long-standing rap collective and performances by Reno’s Black Rock City Allstars and B3 the Shark, a hip-hop artist out of Seattle, Washington.

In addition to being featured prominently on Hieroglyphics’ albums, Del the Funky Homosapien released numerous solo albums since being discovered by his cousin, rapper Ice Cube. He also put in memorable performances on the Gorillaz tracks “Clint Eastwood” and “Rock the House” and released two albums as Deltron 3030 with Dan the Automator and Kid Koala.

“By staying true to himself, Del has earned legions of adoring fans. He may have said it best in his classic, ‘Mistadobalina,’ when he declared all in the mind and the heart,” according to his online biography.

Doors open at 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at the door and online at http://www.ticketweb.com.

Whiskey Dick’s Saloon is located at 2260 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.
