Democrats meet in Markleeville

Jim Clark, Alpine County Democratic Central Committee chairman, invites Democrats and other interested in local, state and national issues to its no-host dinner meeting. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Wolf Creek Restaurant in Markleeville, Calif.

“It is essential that there be citizen input on such matters as taxes, social security, health care, including prescription drugs, and foreign policy,” Clark said. “We hope that the Democratic group’s monthly meetings will provide such a forum.”

Beginning in February the dinner meetings will take place every third Wednesday at the restaurant. The central committee’s officers, in addition to Clark, are Ernestine Fogarty, vice chair; Abbey Peters, treasurer; Irving Krauss, secretary; and Earl O’Neal, board member.
