Dennis Lee Grafton

A celebration of life will take place Sept. 24 for Dennis Lee Grafton, who died Aug. 9, 2006, at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, following a long battle with hepatitis C and liver failure.

Dennis was born Sept. 9, 1950, in Oakland, Calif., and had been a 50-year resident of South Lake Tahoe. He graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1968. He was employed at the South Tahoe Public Utility District from 1988 to 1996 and was a water treatment and water distribution operator at Kingsbury General Improvement District from 1997 to 2006. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Grafton of Carson City, Nev.; son, Jonathan of Carson City; and mother, Janice Collins of Lakewood, Colo. He was predeceased by his adoptive parents, John and Mabel Grafton; and son, Christopher Grafton.

A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at Caples Lake, Calif.
